Words that changed us
Bicentenary of independence: columns of words hung from the rooflights and a forest of timber frames.
Built exhibition, 2010.
Each key word of independence — liberty, republic, citizen — becomes a textile column suspended beneath a circular rooflight, so daylight illuminates the title. Below, timber frames assembled in a free plan carry graphics and documents. The drawing series explains the whole process: site, empty room, exploded view, assembly, plan and section.

Narrative · installation · experience
The project, chapter by chapter.
Language moves from the page into space.
01
A room before the words
The existing room sets the starting point: entrances, openings and changes of level precede the installation. Comparing this shell with its later occupation makes the intervention legible.
02
Language occupies the air
Textile columns extend reading upwards without completely enclosing the views. The section relates their vertical presence to the skylights and to the approach through the stair.
03
The frame unfolds
The exploded view separates frames and textile surfaces to explain each assembly. This distinction reveals an installation made of identifiable elements, rather than graphics simply applied to walls.
04
Reading while walking
The plan places the exhibits within the circulation field. Reading involves approaching, circling and looking again; the distance between supports contributes to the narrative alongside the texts.
05
The narrative takes shape
The sequence from empty room to exploded components and installation brings the decisions together. It distinguishes the building from the exhibition before comparing both with the room photograph.
